The Sinclaire Continuing Saga

1.In response to a few points. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to return the Steuben Sinclaire vase from where it had come from without loss. There are ways to remove the stamp signature such as a mild bath of hydrofluoric acid but this should only be done by a professional because of the noxious fumes from the acid. A very skilled polisher could also remove it without destroying the integrity of the piece.

I have tried everything to see through the black of the glass with no luck and most likely wont have another chance to do this before it is returned. On this note I am going to say thank you very much everyone for your input and enquiries and renew my membership for 2019. Norman Skolnick

2.Yes Gordon. The mark can be easily polished out by a competent glass restorer. Douglas Cutter

3.Perhaps a club member who is knowledgeable on the topic can share some information on the fake signatures that are out there. I have seen faked Hawkes signatures too. Perhaps someone can help with those as well? Aaron Weber
