Carder's Artistic Panels Not On Display

Posting Number 3077   Date: 11/08/18     Return to Posting List

Hello Alan,

I must tell you that as an avid follower of Carder glass, over the decades I felt that I had seen a majority of his creations. The recent weeks where you have pictured the plaques in the Gazette have been a real treat, as I had never seen most of these. Its a shame that they are not displayed as you alluded to, because it is yet another testament to the artistic genius that was Frederick Carder.

Mark Chamovitz

Bristol yellow glass; pressed. Circular panel, relief profiles of two World War I soldiers; satin finish front; polished back; unmarked.

collection of Corning Museum of Glass, gift of Corning Glass Works
