How To Research Glass

Posting Number 2696   Date: 04/21/17     Return to Posting List

To respond to Judy Goldsteins comment on not being able to come to Corning for informational lectures:

The Corning Museum of Glass Library does not currently videotape or live-stream our workshops, or post them on You-Tube. We expect to have a short tutorial online before the end of the year.

With the internet, researchers have access to many of our resources by searching our online catalog, learning a bit about our different collections, and view our digitized materials (published before 1923). We have some online research guides available for different topics on the Librarys portion of the website, as well as our online catalog:

You can also tap the reference staffs expertise, by asking specific questions, obtaining assistance in searching the catalog, and requesting bibliographies on specific topics. Please use the Ask-a-Librarian box on our website; if you have additional questions, the website provides a direct email address and phone number.

For those with a special interest in cut glass, I would be happy to share my detailed notes, and our research guide for American cut/engraved glass of the Brilliant Period will be on our website shortly.

Tiffany Mosaic

Hello Ms Boyd,

Sorry for the delay in responding. The sight dimensions of the Tiffany Mosaic are: Ht. 23.5" and the width: 17.25" . It is also in it's original frame which is gold and a very simple linear design.
